Comic Relief is one of the biggest fund raising events in the UK and each year millions of pounds are raised for charity.

Comic Relief is the charity but  the Red Noses they sell is why the day is also known as this. Red Nose Day 2009 is on Friday 13th March and full coverage of the day can be watched online on the BBC.

As well as the wearing of the Red Noses, which can be bought from Sainsburys and come in 3 different designs, you will find many places such as schools and work premises have wear your own clothes days and do charitable fund raising too.

In 2009 there are 3 different Red Noses to choose from so don’t forget to “pick your nose!”
A 2009 Red Nose costs £1 and 70p goes to Comic Relief!

Some of the celebrities you will see hosting the fundraising on the BBC include: Ruby Wax, Lenny Henry, Fearne Cotton, Graham Norton, Tony Robinson, Dani Harmer, Ed & Oucho and Mr tumble.

There is also a group of celebrities who are aiming to climb Kilimanjaro and help raise £1 million pounds, these are: Alesha, Ben Shephard, Cheryl Cole, Chris Moyles, Denise Van Outen, Fearne Cotton, Gary Barlow, Kimberley Walsh & Ronan Keating!
